WAO

The folk music band WAO has taken on the task to spread ballads and poems by Vilho Ollikainen. Equipped with a tape recorder and a typewriter Vilho made poems and sets to music about his experiences and reflections decades before the word blog was invented. He was constantly creating in a nearly manic manner, and also used art to fight his inner demons. 

The members of WAO (Wilho Akseli Ollikainen) consists of musicians from JP Nyströms, JORD and JPP, who all have been inspired and touched by Vilhos art.Just in time for the premiere of Tjära människa in october 2014, the band formed and since the tours with the name WAO. This summer they released their first album Maailma on hullu (The world is crazy).
